Pastor sells 'the blood of Jesus' in plastic bottles...

According to this unconfirmed report by Zambezi Reporters, Malawi pastor and the founder of ECG ministries, Prophet Shepherd ‘Major 1’ Bushiri is allegedly selling 'blood of Jesus" in plastic bottles. Prophet Bushiri is one of the richest pastors in Africa and had made news earlier this year when he acquired his third private jet in a space of two years. Below is what the report alleged:

"The blood is being sold in 500ml and 750ml plastic bottles. One congregant who confessed to be a loyal member of ECG ministries revealed that the blood heals every calamity and problems.

"We have been using anointing oil which is called “The Lion of Judah” before and we have been using anointed mantles, bracelets and DVDs but this time the power is released. Major 1 introduced “The Blood of Jesus” which is real blood of Jesus which was extracted at Calvary when the Son of God was crucified. As sons and daughters of Major 1 we don’t really care what people will say, we understand this revelation as a ministry (ECG family), people are on the move to drag our fathers name into disrepute but God elevated him to address our problems. The blood of Jesus is being sold at our worship center the smallest bottles 500ml are costs R20 000 and the 750ml bottle costs R30 000. We don’t care about the price but the results, as we are speaking the Blood of Jesus has resurrected reported five people and healed hundreds since launch."

Eid el-Fitr: Muslims in Benin observe Eid prayers under heavy security

Muslim in Benin on Wednesday observed Eid prayers to mark the end of the holy month of Ramadan under heavy security. Security was provided by officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), the Police and the Nigerian Army. The security personnel were particularly visible inside and around prayer grounds located at Ikpoba Slope and the Nigeria Air Force base along the airport road. Those, who observed their prayers at the Air Force base prayer ground, were thoroughly screened before they were allowed to enter the ground for prayer. It was also observed that aside the massive deployment of personnel at prayer grounds, the security agencies also had their patrol vehicles stationed at and patrolling strategic areas in the city. The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Command in Benin, Mr Steven Onwuchei, said the security presence was to ensure hitch-free Sallah celebration across the state. Onwuchei, who spoke with NAN, said: “The proactive measure was not meant to raise alarm, but to ensure that nothing goes wrong while the people celebrate. “It is also meant to tell criminals to steer clear while the good people enjoy themselves. “It is a strategic arrangement aimed at warding off criminals during and after the celebration.” The spokesman, however, advised the residents of the state to be vigilant while celebrating. The spokesman of NSCDC in the state, Mr Efosa Ogbebor, told NAN that the corps deployed 1,000 officers – both armed and unarmed – to prayer grounds across the state to provide adequate security during and after the Sallah celebration. “Among these officers, we have intelligence officers. “And we are working in concert with other security agencies for an incident-free Sallah celebration,’’ he stated.

She died before she could receive medical attention.” On the kidnap incident, Vanguard gathered that it took place Sunday evening around Howell Crescent, Aba, when gunmen seized the Medical Director, Dr. Eze Nwokocha, as he was returning home from a meeting in the city. U.S president Barack Obama wished his first daughter Malia a happy 18th birthday on Monday, 4th of July, the same day America celebrated its independence.

Obama, flanked by rapper Kendrick Lamar, belted out a croaky version of happy birthday song to his daughter, while the crowd at the annual Fourth of July party at the White House cheered on.

Malia, who will begin her studies at Harvard in 2017 after graduating from high school in June, embraced Kendrick Lamar and Janelle Monae on stage after her father sang Happy Birthday to her.

'Because it's a job of fathers to embarrass their daughters, I've got one last job,' Obama joked as the audience began to applaud. 'It just so happens we celebrate our country's birthday on the same day as my oldest daughter's birthday, so just a quick Happy Birthday for Malia,' Obama added before breaking into song.

Woman narrates how her son was expelled from his hostel in Lagos for asking a female student to report a case of sexual molestation

Woman narrates how her son was expelled from his hostel in Lagos for asking a female student to report a case of sexual molestation

Mayokun Akpoterabor, pictured, has accused her son's school, Cayley College on Celestial Church Street, off Amaraolu street, Agidingbi, Lagos, of expelling him from the hostel because he advised a junior female student to report a case of sexual molestation from another female student to a teacher. Read what she shared on her Facebook wall.

What should I do?

My son got expelled from the hostel in the middle of his NECO exams for....(wait for it)....advising a junior student (girl), who reported a case of molestation by another student (girl) to him, to go tell a teacher she is comfortable with. The school says he shouldn't have advised, but to hush....keep quiet...stay mum....gbenudake! (sounds weird huh?).

I've been calm in the past two weeks since it happened, only my few friends (3) knew the heavy burden I've borne. I have been giving support to my son through this period. He was too shocked to believe he is being punished for what he thought was right to do - advising the poor girl to open up to an adult!

The molesting student was punished - how? To wash plates. Molestation in every word o - breast-touching, forcing her for a kiss, ati bee bee lo.

The school did not even mind what psychological effect this might have on my son who had a paper the very next day!

The Proprietress had called me that Monday morning, demanding I come quickly. Being Monday, a heavily -packed one with meetings and activities, I appealed to push the 'urgent' meeting till the next day. She reluctantly agreed, then I asked to know why the urgency, she said she does not think she can keep having my son in the hostel. Wetin happen? She said she cannot discuss the matter on phone. I wondered! I still visited two days earlier, what could have gone wrong in the last 48 hours?!! With that I promised to see her the next day - Tuesday. Whossai! She called my son to her office after the call, and suspended him. The poor boy went on his kneels asking that he be forgiven for advising! The woman drove him out o, querying why his mother did not abandon whatever she was doing to come answer her call. My son even explained how heavy her widow-mother's work-life is, she won't bulge! I am one that goes to any length to honour even the slightest call for attention from my children or their school or even teachers o. Those that know me will attest to this. I devote time to my sons at ANY cost!

Anyway, I have chosen not to even dignify the school authority with a call talk less of a visit since then. I just take him for his exam and pick him after. The owner loves to cow her staff and anyone willing. Definitely not me!

The suspension letter did not state reasons for suspension but put this:

"He (my sweet son o) is only allowed to sit for the exams and leave promptly after each paper" as if na thief he thief o!

The shock for me in the past two weeks no get Part 2. I have kept how hurting this has been to my chest. Suspended for advising to report molestation..ghen ghen

He took his last paper yesterday, so I am asking: what is best to do now?

PS: The school suspended a student this way last year also, over a mere exchange between him and the housemaster (that's another loongggg story), blotted out his picture from their year book, denied him to partake in the graduation, did not hand him the 4 awards due him, last year/session. Obviously, all the lies they slammed at the poor kid, the parents unknowingly believed and trashed their son the more. It is good to know your children well so you know when they are being lied against and chide them accordingly when they are the one in the wrong. Most parents always think "these adults can't be wrong nah" "Grandma can't be lying against you ke". Well, I got to know about the case well after, and even took the Director of Studies up on what I thought was "a bazooka treatment on a mosquito" kilode! He tried to justify their actions. Little did I know they would soon reach my side. Now, my few friends that know about my son's ill-treatment by the school are also concerned the school might go all out after my son. They've been wondering why I never tear them sef!

Reason for their concern: this same housemaster suddenly started picking on my son in February this year accusing him of all sorts of unthinkable things. Because I know my sons wella, they are my homies, trust me - we be bff - it was easy for me to know something was amiss. A little investigation and I discovered the housemaster wanted a puppet, an accomplice to perpetrate injustice. Before I could act, my son was suspended from the hostel. E gba mi somebody! I flew down to the school, and by when I revealed all my findings, the suspension was not only reversed, the housemaster in question was fired!

I think the Proprietress and some who felt their ego was bruised by forcing them to see how much their values stink haven't forgiven me (my son). Number of students drop every year, I am told. Now I know why. My son joined them two years ago.

Even with this latest happenings, I have received calls from some teachers appealing to me, a few parents and many students are wondering why I am not acting. Heard some form of silent kicking is brewing - students, some teachers who are not in the Proprietress circle.

As I write this, his Basketball Team mates are calling him to come join them for training preparatory to some Valedictory matches earlier scheduled. He is the tallest in his school and quite liked by most students, I guess for his calm but fun way of relating to all. A teacher had assured him he will speak with the Proprietress and demand that he partakes. This teacher spoke with him few days before this whole drama unfolded to be strong and know that something unpalatable was about to happen, some outcome he (my son) would never have expected. My son told me about this conversation with the teacher just few days ago. All the puzzle just coming together now, he said to me.

I doubt if I even want him to go to the school now should they ask him to come for the Training, because of the clause on his suspension letter. Make somebody no go ask while he came haven been strictly stated not to come except for his exams.

Missing out on all the fun of just finishing secondary school, the good-bye activities, plans to really celebrate leaving a landmark stage of one's life and all, is getting to him. I've been talking to him since morning, encouraging him but at some point, I was moved to tears. He is being deprived of all these for doing the right thing! Not easy when you suffer this way o!

And I just hope they won't say he shouldn't come for his graduation o.

'Buhari, Osinbajo, Saraki, Governors can be arrested while in office' - Femi Falana

Femi Falana says a sitting president or governor who commits any crime can be arrested and tried, saying according to the Supreme Court ruling, there was no longer absolute immunity. The Senior Advocate of Nigeria said immunity does not extend to electoral fraud and asked Senate President, Bukola Saraki and his Deputy, Ike Ekweremadu to face the forgery charges against them rather than politicking about it, saying “they have no immunity to dodge the charges against them.’’.

He said this while speaking on: “Limit of executive immunity” in Benin to mark the 60th birthday of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) of Edo, Prof. Julius Ihonvbere
"The senate is now politicising the issue, saying it is political victimization but not that the offence was not committed. As leaders of the National Assembly, you are supposed to be above board and that is even the more reason you must be careful.
“But I want to remind the senate that the Attorney General of the Federation is only answerable to his boss, who is the president and nobody else.
“The same thing applies to the states, so there is no longer absolute immunity in this country.
“And that is why what is happening in Ekiti today about money found in a bank and the governor is saying it is illegal to freeze his account that is not true.
“Any issue that is criminal in nature must be treated as such,” he declared.

19-year-old Indian girl killed in Dhaka terror attack made her last call to family

20 foreigners, including an Indian girl, were brutally murdered with sharp weapons by ISIS terrorists inside a restaurant popular with expatriates in the diplomatic part of Bangladesh's capital, Dhaka.

19-year-old Tarishi Jain, who was killed in the Dhaka terror attack, had made a terrified call to her family in Uttar Pradesh from a toilet of the Holey Artisan Bakery as the gunmen went on the rampage. That was at 1.30 a.m. -- the last time her family spoke to her.

The Jain family, based in Suhag Nagar area of Uttar Pradesh's Firozabad district, on Saturday recalled the last conversation they had with her during the siege. They said Tarishi called at around 1.30 a.m. and informed that she had locked herself in the toilet of the Cafe as armed assailants opened fire.

"It was around 1.30 a.m. when we got a call from Tarishi. She told us that gunmen were around and that she had locked herself in one of the toilets of the restaurant," her uncle Rakesh Mohan Jain revealed.

He added that they tried to connect with her but the call went unanswered. It was only answered at 6.30 a.m. but no one spoke from the other end.

Tarishi's mortal remains will reach Delhi by Jet Airways on Monday July 4, Times of India reports.

Director of Military Operations Brigadier General Nayeem Ashfaq Chowdhury said the militants slaughtered 20 hostages before the joint operation led by the armed forces began. Most of those killed were found with their throats slit, he added.

All hostages killed were foreigners, with most of them being Italian or Japanese. Two senior police officers were also killed.  Among those rescued were Sri Lankan and Japanese nationals.

Around 30 people were wounded in the attack claimed by the Islamic State. According to the US-based SITE Intelligence group, ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack through its Amaq news agency. Police said they have detained two employees of the eatery for questioning. A US citizen was among those killed , the US State Department later disclosed.

"We can confirm that a US citizen was among those senselessly murdered in this attack," the department said in a statement but gave no other details about the victi
